Sunseri approaches neon as an artistic medium rather than commercial signage.

In many works, a line begins with the artist’s own hand—a drawing, handwritten phrase or portrait—and is translated into real hand-bent glass neon. The physical glass preserves the movement and individuality of the original gesture before transforming it through illumination.

Other works combine real glass neon with acrylic painting, canvas, mixed media, found objects and sculptural forms, allowing light to become part of the composition itself.

The result moves between drawing, sculpture, painting and light.

Missy Sunseri accepts select commissions for original contemporary artwork, including paintings, mixed-media works, sculptural pieces, real glass neon, illuminated objects and site-specific installations.

Each commission is conceived as an original work rather than a reproduction of an existing piece. A project may begin with an idea, emotion, architectural setting, color direction, scale, material or conversation with the collector or design professional.

Commissioned works may include acrylic paintings on canvas or board, mixed-media artwork, sculptural assemblages, illuminated sculpture, real hand-bent glass neon, neon on canvas and works combining several materials within a single composition.

Commissioned artwork can also begin with the environment in which it will live.

Sunseri may work directly with collectors, homeowners, interior designers, architects, art advisors, developers, hospitality teams and creative professionals to consider scale, proportion, color, viewing distance, architecture and placement.

The resulting artwork remains distinctly Sunseri’s while responding to its intended setting.

This may include commissioned artwork for Los Angeles and West Hollywood residences, hotels, restaurants, hospitality projects, commercial interiors, events, film and television environments and other select creative spaces.

While Missy Sunseri’s practice is based in Los Angeles, inquiries are not limited to Southern California.

Available artworks and commissioned works can be shipped, subject to the requirements of the individual piece and destination. Because paintings, real glass neon, illuminated objects and sculptural works may require different packing, crating, freight or installation considerations, shipping and delivery arrangements are confirmed for each artwork.

For larger or site-specific commissions, fabrication, transportation and installation requirements can be considered during project development.

Sunseri also creates original artworks that bring painting and real glass neon together within a single composition.

Rather than treating illumination as an addition to a finished painting, the neon line becomes part of the artwork’s visual language—interacting with pigment, surface, color and material.

These works occupy a space between contemporary painting, mixed-media art and illuminated sculpture.

Sunseri’s practice extends beyond conventional wall-mounted neon.

The collection includes freestanding neon sculpture, sculptural birdcage works and one-of-one illuminated objects, including Birdcage Couture, Erotic, Le Jaguar, Yesterday, Time Is Luxury and Very Demure.

These works explore what happens when illumination becomes part of an object—changing how its form, material and surrounding space are perceived.

Original and commissioned artwork can be considered in dialogue with an interior or architectural environment.

Sunseri works with design professionals to consider scale, proportion, color, placement, sightlines and the relationship between artwork and surrounding architecture while maintaining the integrity of the artist’s visual language.
